Feature Availability in Embedded and Non-embedded Mode

When you embed an element of the GoodData platform into your application, certain features may become unavailable comparing to non-embedded mode. However, some features become available only in embedded mode.

Not available in embedded mode

Embedded mode disables the following features that are otherwise accessible from Analytical Designer and the Manage page:

• Managing workspace data: attributes, facts, data set, and so on (see Managing Workspace Data and Data Access)
• Managing workspace users and the workspace itself (see Managing Users in Workspaces and Administrating Workspaces and Workspace Objects)
• The Create metric button in Analytical Designer (see Create and Save a Metric)

Available in embedded mode only

The following features are available only in embedded mode:

• Hiding and displaying attributes, facts, metrics, or dates based on tags in KPI dashboards and Analytical Designer (see Embed a Dashboard and Embed Analytical Designer)
• Customizing the way of handling drilling events in Analytical Designer and KPI dashboards (see Setting up Events for Drilling in Embedded Analytical Designer and Dashboards)

Available in both embedded and non-embedded mode

The following features are available in both embedded and non-embedded mode:

• Working with dashboards including editing dashboards, adding reports, scheduling automatic emails, and so on (see Creating Dashboards and 2022-10-03_10-07-34_Using Dashboards)
• Creating and editing KPI dashboards (see Dashboards)
• Creating and editing insights in Analytical Designer (see Analytical Designer)
