Getting Started with Snowflake and GoodData

The GoodData platform is a cloud-based end-to-end analytics tool for capturing and loading data from numerous and diverse data sources and then enabling users to build metrics, create reports and dashboards.

Snowflake is one of the supported data sources and you can easily integrate it into your GoodData workspace.

This integration does not use your Snowflake resources for computation. Instead, GoodData synchronizes data from Snowflake frequently based on a user-defined schedule and serves as the last-mile analytics platform.

The following diagram illustrates the concept of Snowflake-GoodData integration. Your Snowflake data are loaded by GoodData Analytical Data Distribution (ADD) into your workspace for processing by the Logical Data Model (LDM). Then you will use the processed data to create insights.

The following tutorials will guide you through the process of completing Snowflake-GoodData setup and using GoodData. To get familiar with the processes and user interface, we recommend that you start with loading our sample data first and then using them to build your first insights.

Load Sample Data from Snowflake into GoodData

Integrate GoodData and your existing Snowflake instance, load our sample data from Snowflake into your GoodData workspace, and create your first insights.

Load Your Own Snowflake Data into GoodData Workspace

Integrate your Snowflake instance with a GoodData workspace and create a unique logical data model to work with your own data.

Invite Users to Your Workspace

Create simple insights using the data that you imported to your Redshift cluster and then loaded to your GoodData workspace.
