Before you begin, keep in mind the following limitations to scheduled emails:

  • Limitation: Only 10 non-project users can be added to a scheduled email.
  • Unsubscribing: If the Email creator unsubscribes from their Email, subsequent emails will not be sent out to other recipients. It is necessary to have one project user subscribed to the Email as the GoodData platform requires the user to authorize sending the Email.
  • Dashboard filters used at the moment of scheduled Email creation are passed on to the scheduled email.

Schedule Emails on a Dashboard

Contact support to enable or remove scheduled emails within your project(s).

Feature flags can be set at the user, project, and platform token level.

Re-Subscribe to an Email

You can check who has unsubscribed from emails by navigating to the user list at Manage>Emailing Dashboards.

If you want to add unsubscribed users back you can do the following:

  1. The quickest approach is to re-create the scheduled event and add the users back to the scheduled email and disable/delete the old scheduled Email.
  2. If step one is not a viable option, contact GoodData support at who will add the user(s) back to the scheduled email on the back end.

Set Landscape Format

From your selected report, click Export > PDF (Landscape).

If you need to specifically set landscape format for scheduled emails it must be done via the GoodData back end - please contact GoodData support at to arrange this.

Landscape format for scheduled emails can only be set for reports, not dashboards.

Alter Schedule Granularity

If you need to set your emails to a schedule other than daily (weekly, monthly etc) please contact GoodData support at to arrange this.

Add page breaks

Enter edit mode on your dashboard where you see the page-break point. Adjust the dashboards to fit the correct page break. If you need a different page break format for your emails, create a replica of the dashboard and adjust to fit your email format.

Add into your Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record to ensure that GoodData mail relays are authorized to send emails.

Get Email Relay Addresses 

To get email relay addresses use the following dig commands:

Differences between Scheduling Emails via the Dashboard and Manage tabs

Dashboard - Any filters and permissions applied when scheduling are also applied to the generated emails. Each user will see only the data that they have permission to view. If you schedule the email from the dashboard option and you add other users in CC/BCC, the email will be sent with the permission of the email creator. Therefore, users in CC/BCC will receive the same report that you do.

Manage Tab - When you schedule emails the Mandatory User Filters (MUF) will apply the same way as they are set based on the user level. MUFs are applied to scheduled emails accordingly, as the report will be executed as many times and as many users with different MUFs you are sending the email to. That means that each recipient will see only the data that they have permission to view.

Scheduled Emails and Saved Views

If you create and apply a saved view on your scheduled email, recipients must not alter their filters, otherwise this can lead to receiving different results than intended by the scheduler. For more information, see Using Saved Views.

Changing User Email Addresses

If a user's email address is changed, nothing needs to be updated in the scheduled emails or UI. Changes to a user's email address are automatically applied.
