Numerical vs Filtered Variables
When variables are created, they are either defined as numerical variables or filtered (attribute) variables. Both allow a workspace administrator to customize the way different users see report data, though each type serves a different function. Numerical variables assign particular values to different users, while filtered (attribute) variables filter out data that might not pertain to the assigned user.
After a variable has been defined and assigned, saving the variable is permanent. To make changes to the variable, create a new variable.
See Define Numerical Variables and Define Filtered Variables.
