Updating a Data Model in CloudConnect
CloudConnect is a legacy tool and will be discontinued. We recommend that to prepare your data you use the GoodData data pipeline as described in Data Preparation and Distribution. For data modeling, see Data Modeling in GoodData to learn how to work with Logical Data Modeler.
In a typical workflow, the logical data model of an existing CloudConnect project needs to be updated. Updating the data model may include the following tasks:
- Add or remove datasets
- Update relations between datasets
- Add or remove attributes or facts
- Publishing the data model to additional projects
To get started, complete the following steps:
In the Project Explorer tab, open the project folder that contains the LDM you want to update.
Click the model folder. Continue navigating until you locate the LDM file you want to update.
Double-click the file to open it. The data model is displayed in the Model Editor pane.
Perform your updates as needed. See Working with LDM Objects in CloudConnect.
If you are removing objects from your data model, additional steps may be required. To safeguard against corrupting your GoodData project data, by default CloudConnect prevents you from publishing a data model from which objects have been removed when they are still referenced in your target project’s metadata. See Managing LDM Dependencies in CloudConnect. To save the file to your local environment, select File > Save.
To publish the data model, click Publish model to server in the Details sidebar. See Publishing Logical Data Models in CloudConnect.
