Building the Hierarchies in the CloudConnect Modeler
CloudConnect is a legacy tool and will be discontinued. We recommend that to prepare your data you use the GoodData data pipeline as described in Data Preparation and Distribution. For data modeling, see Data Modeling in GoodData to learn how to work with Logical Data Modeler.
You have now created one dataset containing the following objects:
- Facts
- Attributes
- Two labels
In the example dataset, all of the transactional data is lumped together in a flat structure. Relationships between the fields in the data are ambiguous.
In these next steps, you extract fields from the Payments dataset into separate datasets for Employees and Departments, so that you may enforce the 1:N hierarchical relationships implied in the data. In the logical data model, you can build the data structures to manage these hierarchies.
