Learning Data Modeling in CloudConnect
CloudConnect is a legacy tool and will be discontinued. We recommend that to prepare your data you use the GoodData data pipeline as described in Data Preparation and Distribution. For data modeling, see Data Modeling in GoodData to learn how to work with Logical Data Modeler.
In GoodData, you do not need to design or maintain the physical data model. This aspect of data modeling is managed automatically from within the platform.
The following articles will guide you through your data modeling experience by working with the GoodData platform tools.
- Planning and creating your first data model. Regardless of your data modeling experience, review Data Model Object Types in CloudConnect Modeler and Creating Your First Data Model in CloudConnect, which provide an overview of data modeling in CloudConnect and some best practices to designing within the application.
- Working with Logical Data Models and Working with Objects in Your Data Model. These sections provide information on how to work with the content of your data model to manage large-scale changes. See Working with Logical Data Models in CloudConnect and Working with LDM Objects in CloudConnect.
- Logical Data Model User Interface. This chapter provides reference information on the interface for LDM Modeler. See CloudConnect Modeler User Interface.
